37 Water Temple Keys

This category uses Reverse Bottle Adventure (RBA) and tricks within Water Temple to reach a Water Temple small key count of 37. The specific rules can be referenced on Speedrun.com as always.

The route can be found at this Google Spreadsheet, with tabs for the VC route and for the N64 1.0 route. Videos of each route are also linked on the sheet.

This is an accessible route for beginners to learn.

The route listed is primarily for Wii VC (and other versions with Stick as Adult) but on N64 this run can also be done on the 1.0 version, with differences noted where relevant.

Equips are notated as (e.g.)

In this route, which C-button each item is often important. This is notated with red pipes; in the above example, Cojiro must be on C-right specifically.
Parentheses following an item indicates it is equipped over a different inventory slot (e.g. by duping or equip swap); in the above example, Deku Stick is equip swapped over the Ice Arrows slot.

Rupee, heart, and bomb counts are notated as [r, h, b] where relevant.

Equip Hookshot over Fake Bombbag. Equip Sword and savewarp

Ruto / Dragonhead (35 keys)

Perform Tektite dive to get to ruto. Equip Bugs to C-right during buffer
Talk to Ruto and then float to the top
Use Timestop to activate the Zelda's Lullaby musical stave
Play Zelda's Lullaby while enterring the water. Dive to cracked wall.
Insta drop bomb and pull stick against the cracked wall
Perform damage QPA, using the buffer to equip hookshot to C-right
Jumpslash with given angle to break stick. Open the small key chest
Drop down and light torches to unlock the clams room
Enter the clams room and kill clams with hookshot. Get the key and leave
Return to the main tower area and kill the spike enemies with hookshot
After farming 13 bombs, torch clip to go out of bounds
Swim over to the water jet room before the dragonhead room
Cross the room with the jetstream (or mega if spare bombs)
Get ISG off of the Tektite and enter Dragonhead room.
Perform 9 QPA bombhovers in order to reach the upper key
Ledge clip and swim to the lower key. Savewarp afterwards.

Weirdshot the target in the coridoor below
Run to the other end and Wierdshot to the key behind the block
Weirdshot to escape the block room and traverse to the tower area
Jump down to the middle floor and light the torch. Enter the tower
Ledge clip under the moving box and 180 turn away from the wall
Pull bomb and shield the explosion while targetting to get Out of Bounds
turn 180 and dive. When dive meter says (4), hold up. Swap to upleft at (3)
Swim to the last key and open the chest
